The activities are designed to encourage flexibility, rhythm, confidence, emotional balance, neuromuscular coordination, and jumping ability, fostering both a healthy mind and body.
This is the perfect time for your child to explore different sports through fun and play. At this stage of life, children should experience a variety of athletic activities without needing to specialize. They are introduced to both popular and lesser-known sports, such as basketball, hockey, cricket, handball, sprinting, jumping, and obstacle courses, all with love and respect for the fundamental principles of sports. This approach also allows our coaches to identify each child’s athletic inclinations and talents.
Children have the opportunity to experience handball, a classic Olympic team sport and one of the oldest and most popular games.
Through our programs, we promote athletics and physical activity, explain the objectives of the game and its basic rules, while our young athletes learn this exciting team (and individual) sport from experienced coaches.
We give children the chance to explore handball, which incorporates elements from multiple sports and supports the development of strength and endurance. The sport adapts to children’s natural movements—running, jumping, balancing, and throwing—while integrating cognitive, physical, and emotional growth.
Basketball, children’s favorite team sport, offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental health, as well as overall fitness.
It supports the comprehensive development of the musculoskeletal system, giving children the opportunity to release energy, socialize, and play as a team, fostering social skills.
At the same time, it encourages strategic thinking while children have fun and stay active.
Under the guidance of our experienced coaches, children are introduced to sports and the philosophy of football while engaging in playful physical activity.
They learn the fundamental technical and tactical elements of the sport and practice through modern training methods.
Football, as a team sport, not only provides physical benefits but also strengthens social skills and the value of teamwork. It helps children cooperate, set goals, and enhances their ability to take calculated risks.

Our team of coaches, consisting of Lydia Cheimariou, Dimitris Varzakakos, and Petros Baroumas, is always by the children’s side, providing guidance and encouragement with a passion for sports and a deep understanding of each child’s needs. Each member of our team brings extensive experience and expertise, sharing the same philosophy: to support the physical and emotional development of children with responsibility and a love for athletics.
The monitoring of children’s motor skills is conducted consistently and carefully through the sports programs we implement. Assessments are carried out indirectly during activities, offering a natural and enjoyable evaluation process that enhances participation and progress. Continuous observation allows our team to adapt programs to each child’s individual needs and abilities, ensuring optimal development.
During the school year, the «Filia» Children’s Gym operates daily from Monday to Friday in the afternoons, offering children the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports activities that support their physical development. It is important to note that children enrolled in «oti agapo» participate in sports activities during the morning hours, while children registered in the general program of KDAP «oti agapo» participate in the afternoon sessions. Sports activities are an essential part of their daily routine, combining learning with fun and ensuring children benefit from all offered activities.
For the maximum comfort and safety of children during activities at the «Filia» Children’s Gym, please ensure they have the following items:
Sportswear: Comfortable leggings, tracksuits, or shorts that allow free movement and are suitable for all types of activities.
Socks: Shoes are not allowed in the gym, so non-slip socks are required for safety and stability.
Water Bottle: Each child should have their own water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the activities.
Change of Shirt: Depending on the season, we recommend bringing an extra shirt for changing.
Personal Hygiene: Children should bring a small towel to maintain hygiene, especially during more intense exercises.
Hair Ties: If the child has long hair, it’s recommended to bring a hair tie or elastic band to keep hair away from the face during activities.
Healthy Snacks: We suggest bringing a small healthy snack, such as fruit, nuts, or energy bars, to help with recovery after exercise.
As parents, it is important to be aware of the first aid procedures we have in place:
First Aid Training: Our gym staff are trained in first aid and are always ready to provide assistance in case of an accident.
Bleeds and Minor Injuries: In the event of minor injuries, such as scrapes or small cuts, immediate care is provided.
Special Health Conditions: If your child has a specific health condition, please inform the gym instructors and staff in advance so they are prepared to respond appropriately in case of need.
Necessary Medical Items: If your child has any medical issues or allergies, please notify us and ensure that all necessary medications are provided.
The facilities at «filia» are fully equipped, offering a safe, comfortable, and functional environment, ideal for the physical and mental development of children. In a spacious 150 sq.m. area, specifically designed to meet the needs of each child, the gym features modern sports equipment and interactive tools that turn every training session into a unique and fun experience.
With easy access and ample parking, we make things convenient for parents, while our young friends enjoy activities in a safe and welcoming space. Here, children have the opportunity to develop their motor skills, foster teamwork, and enhance their creativity, combining safety with fun.
Families eligible for vouchers from the ESPA program of EETAA can take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the activities of the «Filia» Children’s Gym completely free of charge.
The initiative “Promotion and support of children for their integration into preschool education, as well as access for school-age children, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities to creative activity services” provides families with the chance to secure high-quality, creative care for their children, while also enhancing access to educational programs that foster development and learning.
