At «oti agapo», the revival of the Corfu Venetian Carnival offers a unique cultural experience that combines education, history, and entertainment. Students, educators, and parents, dressed in impressive Renaissance and Baroque costumes from the school’s wardrobe, parade through the historic center of Corfu as ladies of honor, counts, courtiers, and standard-bearers, participating in the events and festivities of the Corfiot Carnival.
Through hands-on activities, historical retrospectives, audiovisual material, and storytelling, students engage with the cultural heritage of the region, reliving the splendor and culture of the Venetian Carnival, which has deep roots in Corfu.
From the very beginning, «oti agapo» embraced the Corfiot Carnival as a source of joy and well-being for both children and adults. Respecting our cultural heritage, the school participates every year with the “Venetians of «oti agapo»” honoring this unique tradition.
The stunning Venetian costumes, filling the school’s wardrobe with period magic, are the creations of our beloved Mrs. Sofia Cheimariou. With dedication and passion, she crafts traditional attire, bringing the Venetian Carnival to life. Through this effort, we preserve collective memory while fostering creativity, belonging, and community cohesion.
